April Ross
April Ross was one of the few female beach volleyball players who have won medals in more than one Olympics. Alix Klineman is a new Olympian who will be joining the team in Tokyo. Ross is also hoping to win her very first Olympic medal. As she turns 39, it could be Ross' last chance to take home an Olympic gold. She is still confident but she is not sure. Ross, via NBC Boston, said that if the team plays very well, or even at all, they could win a gold. Then I will also take the opportunity to try my chance. Ross born August 22nd, 1982 in Costa Mesa California. She lived there together with her parents. While at Newport Harbor High School, she competed in numerous different sports. In addition to indoor volleyball, she ran track and basketball in her pre-college days. She clearly was the top in the game of indoor volleyball. In her own biography in high school, she was a volleyball player as an outside setter (middle blocker) as well as a the setter (outside blocker). The award was presented to her as the Gatorade National Circle of Champions Player of the Year in 1999 for her achievements. The year 2000 was the time she won an Orange County Athlete of the of the year for volleyball. Ross and Klineman began their relationship in 2017 but Ross was a beach scene player for years prior to. It's true that she has had the chance to win numerous events, and one was won by the legendary player of volleyball. From 2007 to 2013 she was in a partnership with Jennifer Kessy, who is currently her coach. Ross, Kessy's fellow teammate who won the world title with Kessy in 2009, also was significant on the international stage. In the 2012 Olympic Games, they were awarded a gold medal. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the team of legends that won the 2012 Olympic Games in London, beat each other to take home the gold. Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate when Maytreanor retired. Together, they won beach volleyball bronze for the Rio Olympics of the year 2016. Ross played for the Trojans of USC in her college years after she graduated high school. Her time at USC was quite impressive. In 2000, as a freshman the Trojans' performance earned her the Pac-10 and NCAA Young Player of the Year awards. In addition, she helped her Trojans to make it to the Final Four. The Trojans suffered a significant personal loss in her sophomore, yet was able to achieve the All-American title. The last two years in the Trojans' program they won victories by winning consecutive national championships. The individual accomplishments of her have established her status as a legend in volleyball. Ross was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the nation's best female collegiate player. Ross majored in International Relations at USC. Margie Ross wasn't able to see her daughter's climb to fame as a beach volleyball player. Ross lost her mom to cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She continues to cherish her parents who passed away. Margie at the beach and in daily life, is still a source of inspiration for her.
