The single Despacito, which combines reggaeton with pop music, not only brought new attention to reggaeton music but also sparked interest in Latin music. The Billboard Top 100 in 2015 had two songs mostly of Spanish languages, while the year the year 2016 featured four. The popularity of Despacito reached its peak in the year the year 2017. In 2020, 41 mostly Spanish songs are expected to make it into the top 100. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with a Spanish version in 2017 shortly after which famous artists started working with reggaeton artists. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny to produce MIA (2018) as well as Madonna worked on Medellin along with Maluma (2019). In the year 2020, a handful of reggaeton artists were expressing displeasure at its inclination towards mainstream. However, a younger generation, led by Rauw Alejandro, sought to keep reggaeton evolving. He incorporated electronic dance styles and others into his music.
